Microsoft matching funds provide a relatively significant portion of NWJPB’s income for instrument purchases, uniforms, education, and other costs associated with running a bagpipe band (see http://www.nwjpb.org/sponsors/ for more info on the costs). They have a volunteer time matching program where they pay $17.00 an hour to recognized non-profit organizations for every hour a Microsoft employee spends volunteering for the organization, as well as from cash or software donations from employees which get matched. They’ve just announced a new charitable giving program that donates a portion of the advertising revenue to several organizations, just by using Live Messenger with the organization code added to your screen name. See more info by clicking the banner below:
